The World Athletics Championships Oregon 2022 will be held from July 15 to 24 in Eugene, Oregon, the United States.
Eugene is the third largest city in the northwestern U.S. state of Oregon, near the Pacific Ocean. But it also has a small population, with only a few hundred thousand people. Cattle ranching and timber have long been the mainstay of Eugene's economy, but the place that looks more like a cowboy is the most famous track town in the United States.
Established in 1921, Hayward is one of only a handful of tracks in the United States that have been certified as IAAF Level 1. Even the University of Oregon is confident that Hayward is the best track in the world today. In preparation for the world Championships, the University of Oregon began a two-year overhaul of the facility in 2018.
Seventy-seven arched Douglas fir glulam are arranged in sequence as the main structure, each of which contains six members, totaling 462 pieces of wood. These vaults support the ETFE tensioned membrane structure, providing good light for the venue while providing shade for the audience.
Chinese players also left a lot of precious marks on this court. In 2012, Liu ran 12.87 seconds with a wind of 2.4 m/s. In 2015, Su Bingtian broke the 10-second barrier for the first time and set the men's 100-meter national record of 9.99 seconds. Zhang guowei's jump of 2.38 meters was just one centimeter short of the national record of 2.39 meters.
Wang Jianan of China won the first gold medal at the 18th IaAF World Championships by jumping 8.36 meters in the men's long jump.
