As a natural green building and building material, the development potential of wood and bamboo structure building and building materials industry is huge. my country's wood and bamboo structure construction and building materials industry already has a certain foundation for development, and now is a good opportunity to accelerate development.

In terms of resources, my country has the world's largest artificial forest and bamboo forest, and is also promoting the construction of a 300 million mu national reserve forest base. The domestic supply of wood and bamboo will continue to increase.

In terms of industrial scale, there are more than 8,000 enterprises specializing in wood structure-related industries nationwide, which is more than 10 times that of 10 years ago, and the output value has increased by nearly 100 times.

In terms of scientific and technological support, my country has carried out basic research, key technology research and development, and typical demonstration applications in the field of wood and bamboo building materials, resulting in a large number of transformable scientific research results. There are more than 300 authorized patents, and the standard system has been initially established.

In terms of market demand, wood and bamboo structure buildings and building materials are gaining favor, and their applications are getting wider and wider. The wood structure building area is increasing by about 20% every year. With the advancement of urbanization, there is still greater room for growth and development potential.

At present, promoting the development of wood and bamboo structure buildings and building materials industry is also facing some constraints:

Conceptually, the public and the construction industry still have some misunderstandings about wood and bamboo structure buildings, and they still have doubts about their safety (fire prevention, insect control, anti-corrosion, etc.);

In terms of raw materials, imported wood is still the main source, and the domestic supply of raw materials is subject to factors such as the low quality of forest resources, the shortage of large-diameter high-quality broad-leaved wood, and the high cost of bamboo harvesting and transportation;

Technically, the degree of automation of equipment is not high, talent training and R&D innovation capabilities are insufficient, and the standard system still needs to be improved.
